New Univision Podcast Targets Health And Wellness Genre.

Univision’s Uforia app averages more than 18 million session starts per month with about 10 million total listening hours. But so far it offers a limited number of podcasts. The list will grow by one next month when the health and wellness podcast Santo Remedio debuts. Hosted by Univision’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Juan Rivera and Miami personality Monse Medina, the show aims to address many of the Hispanic community’s questions and misconceptions around health and wellness.

“In an age where we are inundated with medical misinformation, we are so proud to introduce a vital new podcast tailormade for our community and hosted by one of the most trusted Latino voices in health and medicine today,” said Univision Radio President Jesus Lara. “This partnership with Dr. Juan is the latest example of our longstanding commitment to informing and empowering our audience by giving them access to the latest health information from a medical expert they know and trust.”

In the first episode of Santo Remedio, the conversation be about the truth and myths around the COVID-19 vaccines.

“We are living through a historic public health crisis, and it is more important than ever for all of us to prioritize our health and well-being. With that in mind, I am thrilled to partner with Univision’s Uforia Podcast Network to offer Latinos across the United States a safe space to ask questions and get the latest fact-based information they need to live a healthier life,” said Rivera in the announcement.

As Univision’s Chief Medical Correspondent, he frequently appears on the “Despierta América” morning show and collaborates with Univision News on health-related segments and stories on its newscasts. Rivera is also a bestselling author and recently launched his own line of “Santo Remedio” products designed to help Hispanics in achieving optimal well-being.

The Santo Remedio (“Holy Remedy”) podcast will include interviews with medical and health professionals as well as with other experts. The weekly show debuts February 1 on the Uforia app.

Medina’s co-hosting duties on the podcast will be in addition to her role as co-host of the “La Gozadera” afternoon show on tropical “Mix 98.3” WRTO-FM Miami.
