With 4.77 million YouTube subscribers and 2.3 million Instagram followers, Bailey Sarian is described as a social media sensation. But the professional makeup artist is also a true crime connoisseur, and she is teaming up with Wheelhouse DNA and Audioboom to not only bring those passions together, but also leverage her large online following in video as well.
Sarian is launching Dark History, a new podcast that leverages expertise from her popular YouTube series, Murder, Mystery & Makeup.. Each week, she will explore the dark underbelly and hidden secrets of both well-known and lesser-known stories from U.S. and world history.
Through the deal, Wheelhouse DNA, the digital media arm of entertainment, marketing and investment enterprise Wheelhouse, also will produce with Sarian a video version of the Dark History podcast. “Storytelling is a passion of mine, and I’m so excited to bring people into a whole new world with Dark History,” said Sarian. It is filmed on a brand new, custom-built, “Sarian-style” set in Los Angeles.
“Bailey Sarian is an innovator whose audience sees her depth and uniqueness, and we’re thrilled to be in business with her,” said Wheelhouse Chief Strategy Officer Ed Simpson, who oversees DNA. “Wheelhouse is built on forging the most meaningful relationships with top-tier talent, like Kevin Hart and Adam Levine, and now with breakthrough Gen Z, influencer-driven talent like the amazing Bailey, who are defining the next wave in entertainment,” he said in a statement.
The podcast will be released each Monday with the video companion debuting on Thursdays. Both are executive produced by Sarian, as well as Chelsea Durgin, Ed Simpson, Avi Gandhi and Fanny Baudry.
