Women Take The Mic At iHeart For International Women’s Day.

Women-led on-air lineups, a special music hour featuring female artists, and a lineup of special podcast episodes will mark iHeartMedia’s celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.

The fourth annual celebration will include “Women Taking the Mics On-Air,” prominently featuring women on-air hosts across the company’s music stations nationwide; “Women Take the Mic Music Hour,” which will air from 5-6pm local time and is devoted to music from female artists, accompanied by special playlists on the iHeartRadio app; and a new feature “Women Take the Mic: The Podcast,” featuring 10 International Women’s Day special episodes from top female podcasts.

“At iHeart we speak to nine out of 10 Americans monthly in communities across the nation through our broadcast radio and podcast networks,” Chief Marketing Officer Gayle Troberman said in a release. “Today on International Women’s Day women take the mic – highlighting the women who elevate this entire medium and connect with listeners everywhere, delivering powerful content, music, news, and entertainment in authentic and inspiring ways.”

The new podcast addition to this year’s celebration will include Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Chiquis and Chill, Dear Chelsea with Chelsea Handler, The Nikki Glaser Podcast, The Psychology of Your 20s, Reasonably Shady, Therapy for Black Girls, There Are No Girls On The Internet with Bridget Todd, Very Special Episodes with Dana Schwartz, and Womanica.

The International Women’s Day episodes will have the hosts sharing “their personal stories of shattering stereotypes, creating opportunities, and inspiring the next generation to find their own voice and share it with the world,” the release says. The podcasts will be available on the iHeartRadio platform.
