Video, AI, And Measurement Will Take Center Stage At IAB Podcast Upfront.

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has unveiled the agenda for its 2025 Podcast Upfront, set for Tuesday, Sept. 30, in New York. The annual event, positioned as the leading marketplace for podcast investment, will spotlight the rapid ascent of video podcasts, shifts in listener behavior, and advances in cross-format measurement.
Hosted by Ali Levitan, creator of the executive interview series Boss by Ali Levitan, the program will feature presentations from Blue Wire, Consumable, iHeartPodcasts, Jomboy Media, Nielsen, NPM & ARM, NPR, Pod Digital Media, Podscribe, Sonoro, The Daily Wire, True Native Media, and WNYC Studios.
“Podcasting is in the midst of a creative and technical transformation — where AI, video, and measurable outcomes are redefining how brands connect with audiences,” said David Cohen, CEO of IAB. “As the marketplace enters a new era, IAB’s Podcast Upfront remains the definitive marketplace for insight, connection, and setting the course for what’s next.”
IAB executives say this year’s event will focus on driving outcomes and equipping advertisers with better performance tools, as well as showcasing the growing role of video.
“Almost 80% of podcast consumers switch between audio and video,” noted Matt Shapo, Director of Digital Audio and Video at the IAB. “That shift is reshaping engagement and prompting the question: What is a podcast in 2025?”
This year’s event will also spotlight the growing focus on impact and outcomes, the advancement of podcast measurement, and how the medium is evolving as major platforms expand their content strategies. Attendees will also get a first look at new tools, creative formats, and monetization strategies that are driving results for brands. From AI-enhanced production workflows to immersive video formats, IAB Podcast Upfront will highlight the technological innovations powering the next wave of podcast engagement and advertiser value.
