In advance of the long Labor Day weekend and a big sales event, Lowe’s has made a fierce return to the upper ranks of radio’s top advertisers.
According to the Media Monitors weekly spot count for Aug. 19-25, 2024, Lowe’s was the biggest gainer, going from No. 46 all the way to No. 2 with 51,571 spots — bested only by Progressive’s 61,909.
The Home Depot, Lowe’s primary competitor in the Home Centers & Hardware Stores category, was also in the mix, finishing at No. 3 — unchanged from the prior week — with 43,405. Like Lowe’s, it also has a major sales event happening.
Wendy’s, meanwhile, was tops in the Fast Casual-Quick Service Restaurants category and No. 7 overall. Its 31,852 outpaced McDonald’s, No. 2 in the category and No. 17 overall.
