‘Shark Tank’ Star Daymond John Teams With Black Effect For New Podcast.

Daymond John knows a good investment when he sees it. It’s what led to his role on the ABC-TV series “Shark Tank.” And when it comes to investing his time, John has obviously concluded there is a good return on podcasting. He is teaming up with The Black Effect Podcast Network to launch a new podcast that will see Daymond sit down with entrepreneurs, celebrities, athletes, artists and more to get their candid reflections on the moments that have shaped and redefined their lives.

Black Effect says the series, called That Moment with Daymond John, will blend “emotional revelations” with “educational insights and entertaining candid discussions to serve as a resource for anyone looking to hear never-before-told stories while also learning valuable lessons that listeners can incorporate into their own lives. Guests lined up for season one include business moguls like Barbara Corcoran, legendary entertainers Ice-T, Fat Joe, and JB Smoove, and restaurateur and celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, among others.

“I’m fortunate to get to speak with incredible moguls across all industries, and That Moment gives me the chance to share their life-changing stories and insights with everyone,” said John in the announcement.

Since Charlamagne Tha God launched Black Effect in 2020 via a partnership with iHeartMedia, the African American-targeted network has launched shows across a variety of genres, from music and comedy to true crime and sports. That Moment becomes its second business show alongside the Will Lucas-hosted Black Tech Green Money.

An entrepreneur in every sense of the word, Daymond John has come a long way from taking out a $100,000 mortgage on his mother’s house and moving his operation into the basement. Today, he is CEO and founder of FUBU, a much-celebrated global lifestyle brand, and a pioneer in the fashion industry with over $6 billion in product sales. In addition to writing several bestsellers, John has also been one of the star investors on “Shark Tank” for the past 14 seasons.

“Daymond John is not only a successful entrepreneur -- he is a cultural icon -- and we are thrilled to have him join The Black Effect Podcast Network,” said Dollie S. Bishop, President of the Black Effect Podcast Network. “Given Daymond’s storied career and vast knowledge of business, fans can expect to take away valuable insights from each new episode.”

Distributed by the iHeartPodcast Network, That Moment with Daymond John will debut next Tuesday, May 2.
