Radio’s Big Week: Marconi Awards, Then NAB Show New York.

NAB Show New York will bring together broadcast technology suppliers, professional audio companies, streaming platforms and production specialists Oct. 21-22 at the Javits Center. The event will feature more than 225 exhibiting companies, over 150 speakers and more than 60 educational sessions covering audio, broadcast, sports media, streaming, creators and artificial intelligence. The show follows the Oct. 20 NAB Marconi Radio Awards dinner, where Hubbard Radio Washington, DC President and General Manager Joel Oxley will receive the NAB National Radio Award.
The 2026 show will feature technologies spanning broadcast, audio, streaming, cloud, AI, production and workflow.
Radio and professional audio will be part of a broader agenda examining how technology, investment and changing audience habits are reshaping media businesses. Sessions will explore streaming product development, personalized playback and NASA+, while AES@NAB New York will bring professional audio into discussions about content creation and distribution.
Artificial intelligence also will feature prominently, with sessions examining whether AI can help address the local news crisis and offering practical lessons from NAB’s Google AI training initiative. Topics include research, document analysis and information integrity.
The program also will examine media consolidation, creator-led businesses and the economics of sports media.
Sports-related sessions will address media rights, investment, betting and fan engagement. “The Future of Sports Betting: Growth, Media and Responsibility” will feature FanDuel President Christian Genetski and WFAN New York’s Craig Carton, who serves as FanDuel responsible gaming ambassador at “The Fan.”
New York Islanders co-owner Jon Ledecky will participate in “Inside the Live Sports Economy,” examining ownership models and opportunities in sports media. OutKick founder and Premiere Networks host Clay Travis will join NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt for “Game On: The Power of Sports on Broadcast.”
The show’s opening also follows a major night for the radio industry. DejaVu, midday host at MediaCo urban AC WBLS New York (107.5), will host the 2026 NAB Marconi Radio Awards on Oct. 20 at Manhattan’s Edison Ballroom. The awards recognize radio stations, personalities, podcasts and industry leaders. DJ Scratch will return for his fifth year at the event, joined by presenters Ryan Fox, host of “American Country Countdown” and a 2026 Marconi finalist for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year, and Anne Kramer, afternoon anchor at Hubbard news WTOP-FM Washington, DC (103.5).
The Marconi finalists, announced in July, include KFI-AM Los Angeles, WCBS-FM New York, WIVK-FM Knoxville, WJR-AM Detroit and WLW-AM Cincinnati in the Legendary Station of the Year category. The full list of finalists can be found HERE.
During the same dinner, presented by Xperi, Hubbard Radio Washington, DC President and General Manager Joel Oxley will receive the 2026 NAB National Radio Award for his contributions to the industry.
Oxley announced plans earlier this year to retire at the beginning of 2027, following nearly 35 years with WTOP and 28 years as General Manager.
