The 1-million-square-foot facility will support the company’s traditional supply chain, its DG Fresh network and the DG Private Fleet, according to a press release. The celebration continues throughout the weekend, with free samples, including a nacho bar, popcorn and cotton candy. The Save A Lot in Jersey Shore is open daily from 8am to 9pm.
In a new promotion that ties into the notion of micro-occasions and also spotlights breakfast offerings, The Kroger Co. is launching its first “Hour Back Box” timed with the switch to Daylight Savings Time. Given the loss of an hour’s sleep, the retailer aims to “make daylight savings a little easier this year.” The free, limited-edition Hour Back Box from Kroger is filled with store brand breakfast products. Offerings include the grocer’s Private Selection Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, Simple Truth Oatmilk Creamer and Kroger Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches, as well as a gift card redeemable for a one-year Kroger Boost membership. Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 9 at 2am.
McDonald’s will serve its bagel breakfast sandwiches nationwide, the company said in a news release. Additionally, McDonald’s locations in New York City began serving Krispy Kreme doughnuts Tuesday, in an expansion of the doughnut marker’s partnership with the Golden Arches. Both items on the expanded menu are accompanied by in-app discounts on the Egg McMuffin to commemorate 50 years of McDonald’s breakfast, the release says.

Fabrics outlet Joann will shutter all its approximately 800 locations after failing to find a buyer that would keep its stores open. In a statement, the company said it would commence nationwide going-out-of-business-sales as a stipulation of the group that won its assets at auction. Joann was founded as the Cleveland Fabric Shop by German immigrants during World War II. At one point, it was the largest fabrics retailer in the U.S.
