Progressive Insurance has resumed its No. 1 position in Media Monitors weekly spot count of the top 100 radio advertisers, just a week after home-improvement behemoths The Home Depot and Lowe’s ramped up national radio ad spending leading into the Memorial Day Weekend.
Progressive aired 56,611 spots for the week of May 27-June 3, edging out No. 2 T-Mobile (55,285) and No. 3 Lowe’s (51,536).
There were no major moves into the top 10.
Insurance continued to be a robust advertising category for radio. In addition to Progressive, the top 100 advertisers for the week included No. 16 Allstate (24,094), No. 40 State Farm (14,202), No. 45 TermProvider (13,092), SelectQuote (8,687) and Comparison Insurance Agency (7,681).
Wendy’s No. 12 overall with 25,119 spots, led the Fast Casual-Quick Service Restaurants category. Also in the mix were No. 22 McDonald’s (22,857), No. 28 DQ Dairy Queen (17,766), No. 41 Taco Bell (13,905) and No. 62 Chick-fil-A (9,805).
For the week of May 27-June 3, 2024, the top ten on the Media Monitors radio advertiser list includes Progressive, T-Mobile, Lowe’s, The Home Depot (49,550), Verizon Wireless (41,791), ZipRecruiter (35,724), Babbel (35,136), Discover (33,950), Straight Talk (32,714) and Mattress Firm (30,406).
