Premiere Networks and veteran radio and podcast personality, writer and actor Phil Hendrie have announced a partnership that will bring the popular, long-running podcast “The World of Phil Hendrie” to iHeartPodcasts’ network of shows.

During the first run of the Premiere-syndicated “The Phil Hendrie Show,” which aired from 1990 to 2006 in major markets across the U.S., Hendrie acted as both a calm host and as a variety of outrageous and fictional guests such as “Bobbie Dooley,” “Larry Grover,” and “Ted Bell,” who would argue with him and the show's live callers. When Hendrie returned to radio in 2007, his Talk Radio Networks-syndicated show initially did not include his characters until he brought them back in 2009. That on-air show ended in 2014, when he switched to an all-digital format of the weekday show, which evolved into a podcast.

Hendrie says in a statement that he is excited to be “reunited” with Premiere. “I’m excited to work with the incredible team at iHeartPodcasts and bring our unique world to an even wider audience,” he said.

“The World of Phil Hendrie” features a modern-day satirical view of the world through the eyes of Hendrie and his multi-verse of characters. The 30-minute program featuring the Radio Hall of Famer’s unique brand of comedy and social commentary will continue to be available Monday through Friday everywhere podcasts are heard.

“We’re delighted to partner with Phil Hendrie to bring his one-of-a-kind talent to iHeartPodcasts,” said Julie Talbott, President of Premiere Networks. “Phil has entertained audiences for decades with his endless roster of characters and voices, and we’re excited to share his hilarious and thought-provoking program with even more listeners and fans.”

Hendrie started out as a disc jockey at WBJW Orlando (1440). After 15 years working as a disc jockey at stations across the country, he realized he hated what he was doing. Moving to Los Angeles, Hendrie debuted in talk radio as a weekend host at KFI (640). In 1990 at KVEN Oxnard-Ventura, CA (1450), Hendrie introduced his first fictional character on air. Hendrie’s popularity resulted in the radio show going national in 1999.

In addition to his radio and podcast work, for the last 10 years, Hendrie has regularly played characters on Fox Television’s popular animated series “King of the Hill” and “Futurama.” He also played Nets Coach in the motion picture, “Semi-Pro.” Hendrie is set to appear in the Off-Broadway production “The Pitch” this October in New York.
