The weekday commute home may be tough, but radio’s afternoon drive hosts work hard to make it easier, not to mention entertaining and informative.

According to Inside Radio’s TOP 10 ranking of PM drive hosts – based on weekly cume delivery of persons 6+ Mon.-Fri. 3-7pm, during Nielsen’s Q3 2026 wave (Jul.-Sep. three-month average) –iHeartMedia adult contemporary “106.7 Lite FM” WLTW New York’s 20-year PM drive host Rich Kaminski places first with a 1.4 million cume. Among the air personalities in the top 10, Kaminski has the second-longest tenure in the Apple, having been on New York radio since 1996.

Hosts from New York stations claim the top four spots, with those ranked second and third also boasting a cume of 1 million or more. John Foxx of Audacy classic hits WCBS-FM (101.1) comes in second, followed by iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ’s Crystal Rosas. Rosas’ former “Z100” co-host, Maxwell, places fourth, heard on iHeartMedia’s rhythmic CHR sister WKTU (103.5) since 2024.

Afternoon hosts on Los Angeles stations — iHeartMedia hot AC “104.3 MyFM” KBIG’s Raphael “Raph” Opida, and Audacy classic hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH’s 12-year PM driver Greg Simms — place fifth and sixth. Audacy hot AC WNEW (102.7) New York’s Mike Adam, in his tenth year driving listeners home, ranks seventh, while L.A.’s third host to make the cut, iHeartMedia AC KOST (103.5)’s Sandy Stec, lands at eighth.

More New York radio PM drive veterans rank ninth and 10th. At ninth, iHeartMedia classic rock “Q104.3” WAXQ’s Ken Dashow — who also hosts the station’s Sunday “Breakfast with the Beatles” — boasts the longest run of anyone in the top 10, in the driver’s seat at Q since 1999 and on New York radio since 1982. Audacy all-news WINS-AM-FM (1010/92.3)’s “The PM Rush,” anchored by New York State AP Award winners Larry Mullins and Lori Madden, comes in 10th. The pair have delivered the afternoon news on WINS since 2008 and 2010, respectively.
