Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) is now accepting applications for its 2025 MIW Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship. The year-long initiative—now in its seventh year—is designed to advance female programming professionals into senior leadership roles across the U.S. radio industry.
The mentorship pairs one selected mentee with top-level programming executives for a full year of guided development. Through structured networking, personalized coaching, and behind-the-scenes industry access, MIW says the program is designed to provide both practical leadership tools and visibility within the business.
Open to U.S.-based women working as brand managers, program/content directors, assistant PDs, or music directors, the mentorship is a key part of MIW’s broader mission to increase female representation in upper management. The selected mentee will also receive an exclusive opportunity to attend the 2026 NAB Radio Show in Las Vegas, taking place next April.
“The 'MIW Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship' program is a cornerstone of our mission to empower women in radio,” MIW Board President Sheila Kirby said in a release. “This initiative not only fosters personal and professional growth but also builds a stronger and more inclusive future for the industry.”
Past mentees have included Meg Dowdy, Regional Content Director at Townsquare Media; Traci LaTrelle, Music Director and Assistant Program Director at WHUR-FM Washington, DC; Leslie Scott, former Vice President of Digital Audio Content at Audacy; Grisel Barajas, a rising programming star who passed unexpectedly in 2020; Amanda “ICE” Habrowski, Assistant Program Director and midday host at iHeartMedia Las Vegas; and Kiran Riar, APD and on-air personality at WMPS and WHBQ in Memphis.
Applications are open now and will be accepted through June 20. More information and the application form can be found HERE.
