Four months after Megyn Kelly launched her podcast network MK Media, she is expanding its scope beyond news, politics and entertainment. Kelly is launching MK True Crime, a new channel that will feature true crime shows, original “Kelly’s Court” segments from The Megyn Kelly Show podcast, live trial coverage and recaps, in-depth investigations, and legal analysis.
“My legal background has been a key component of my journalism since I started in the industry, and I’m thrilled to expand the MK Media podcast network into the true crime space,” Kelly said. “The fact that so many of our audience’s favorite legal contributors will be a part of this will make it even more fun, must-see-YouTube, when legal news breaks.”
The MK True Crime channel will launch Aug. 5, with new programming released twice a week on podcast platforms as well as a dedicated YouTube channel. The network says it will draw from an array of expert legal contributors who have become fan favorites on The Megyn Kelly Show’s “Kelly’s Court” and related legal segments over the years. They include attorneys Mark Geragos, Arthur Aidala, Mark Eiglarsh, Dave Aronberg, Phil Holloway, Ashleigh Merchant and Jonna Spilbor, among others.
Prior to her pivot to journalism, Kelly spent nine years working in the legal profession.
Kelly announced in March that she would launch her own podcast network, MK Media. It features shows from creators in the news and entertainment space, including journalist Mark Halperin, cultural columnist Maureen Callahan, and influencer and political commentator Link Lauren. Steve Krakauer, Executive Producer of The Megyn Kelly Show and AM Update, oversees the MK Media shows.
