The podcast database Listen Notes says it has identified nearly 3,500 podcasts produced by artificial intelligence so far this year, and it will no longer feature those shows in its database. Listen Notes says so far in February it has detected 1,525 podcasts that were not human created. That is trending lower than the 1,983 it detected last month. Since it began monitoring for AI-generated content last May, the most AI-generated shows it sniffed out during a single month was 2,475 in October.
“We remain dedicated to showcasing only authentic, human-created podcasts on Listen Notes,” the company says in a blog post. “To uphold this standard, we have implemented an ever-improving system that combines advanced technology with dedicated human moderation to identify and remove AI-generated fake podcasts.”

Listen Notes’ latest tally of podcasts says there are at least 3,509,235 podcasts not generated by AI that have been released worldwide, and 171,646,684 episodes in the world. The podcast search engine and database says it relies on automated scripts and human moderators to clean its data and make needed adjustments to account for podcasts that were long ago deleted, are low-quality feeds such as those with no episodes or just a test clip, AI-generated audio, and non-audio RSS fees containing only PDFs.
