Elvis, Motown and The Beach Boys return to the Lima, OH airwaves as iHeartMedia flips WZRX from rock to oldies as “107.5 The Big Buck.” Using the company’s “Real Oldies” programming, the “Big Buck” is playing hits from the 60s and 70s, including songs from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, The Four Seasons, Elton John, The Beach Boys, along with music from Motown era. The station will also feature a “Buckhead of the Day” as well as Lima’s morning news and sports.
“The Big Buck is Lima’s soundtrack for good times, fun and great music,” Market President Matt Bell said in a release. “This music hasn’t been played on the radio for a long time. We’re excited to bring The Big Buck back to Lima and brighten everyone’s mood.”
“The Big Buck” branding was previously used in the market from 1991-2002.
To an extent, the station fills the classic hits void left with the donation of the former WRZX (106.3) in nearby Dayton from iHeartMedia’s Aloha Station Trust to the Delmarva Educational Association in August. The religious broadcaster has since changed the call letters to WTKD and is airing its Christian preaching “Truth Network” on the signal.
The on-air lineup at “The Big Buck” features “Real Oldies” talent including, Craig Stevens (5-10am); Christie James (10am-3pm); Nick Donovan (3-7pm); Jeffrey T (7pm-12am); and Kevin Rush (12-5am).
As a rock station, WZRX posted a 3.1 in the Spring 2021 Nielsen Audio ratings period.
