iHeart Atlanta Names Spencer Bynes Metro President.

Spencer Bynes is named Metro President for iHeartMedia’s seven-station Atlanta cluster, effective Feb. 1. He transfers to Atlanta from iHeartMedia’s Texas region, where he has served as Area President since 2021. He previously was part of the iHeartMedia family from 2011 to 2016, serving as the Director of Talent Management and Talent Acquisition. Bynes also has worked as Talent Acquisition Manager for Coca-Cola North America based in Atlanta.
As Metro President, Bynes will be responsible for overseeing all programming and marketing for iHeart’s Atlanta-based radio brands, as well as developing and managing key partnerships with current and potential clients across all of the company’s platforms. Additionally, he will “actively build and foster community relationships across the market and region, while providing leadership, guidance and oversight to the team,” iHeart said in the announcement.
“Spencer has done a superb job in his leadership role in Texas, where he drove positive changes in culture and performance,” Division President Kim Guthrie said. “In addition, his talents on how best to recruit, develop and coach a leadership team make him a wonderful fit for our needs here in Atlanta.”
The company’s Atlanta cluster includes Black Information Network affiliate WBIN (640), regional Mexican “El Patron 96.7 WBZW, Spanish CHR “Z105.7” WBZY, urban contemporary “105.3 The Beat” WRDG, sports “Fox Sports 1400” WRZX, country “94.9 The Bull” WUBL, and CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW.
