‘House Of Halliwell’ Releases Five Episodes Actress Shannen Doherty Produced Before Her Death.

Just days after iHeartPodcasts announced Shannen Doherty would join as a co-host of the TV rewatch series The House of Halliwell: A Charmed Rewatch Podcast, the actress lost her years-long battle with breast cancer on Saturday (July 13). She was 53. Doherty also hosted the Let’s Be Clear podcast for iHeart, in which she discussed her Stage IV cancer battle, as well as her career, friendships, and divorces.

“My story has been told by so many other people, but not actually from me, and I think the amazing thing about a podcast is that you get to hear it, straight from my mouth, the truth and nothing but the truth, completely unfiltered,” she said on the debut episode of Let’s Be Clear. In candid episodes that at times were more of an audio diary as she faced what her cancer diagnosis meant for her and those around her, Doherty said that her cancer brought her into a new community, with many sharing their own personal stories. She admitted that when she first decided to start a podcast, she didn’t understand how the business model worked, expecting a contract deal like how television shows are produced. But soon she connected with a producer and iHeart, which said wanted to “do it right.”

Doherty, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, last month told Let’s Be Clear listeners that she had started a new round of chemotherapy.

In the most recent episode of Let’s Be Clear, Doherty reunited with former “Charmed” costar Holly Marie Combes to discuss her joining the House of Halliwell podcast. Doherty said she was excited to be joining the show and reuniting with her former costars – as well as rewatching old episodes of the “Charmed” TV series for the first time. “It's cool, like we're getting to work together again in a different capacity,” she said.

The House of Halliwell podcast said Monday that to honor Doherty’s memory, and to “fulfill Shannen’s wishes,” it is releasing the first five episodes that she recorded before her death. “This show, this character, this podcast meant so much to Shannel she couldn’t wait to share it with ‘Charmed’ fans everywhere,” they wrote on social media. “She was passionate about this project and proud to have played Prue Halliwell, we hope these episodes offer some comfort for everyone who loved her.”
