The audio game show focused on current events has become a well-established public media staple with shows like Wait Wait... Don’t Tell Me among the most popular. Now The Black List and LAist Studios are partnering with The Ankler to create a Hollywood-focused quiz show, with each episode revolving around a subgenre of film or television. Launching in December, the weekly series called “Nobody Knows Anything” will be available as a podcast and also air on “LAist 89.3” KPCC, the top NPR affiliate in Los Angeles.
Hosted by The Black List Founder and CEO Franklin Leonard, each episode of “Nobody Knows Anything” brings together a trio of film and television stars and creatives to take on a set of Hollywood-centric games and quizzes, with each episode revolving around a subgenre of film or television. The premiere will feature Emmy Award-nominated actress and producer Natasha Lyonne, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Cord Jefferson, and comedian and actress Sherry Cola (Nobody Wants This).
Adding to the show’s presentation will be the fact that “Nobody Knows Anything” is taped in front of a live audience at The Crawford at LAist HQ.
The podcast brings together LAist Studios and Southern California Public Radio with The Black List, a storytelling platform that is best known for its annual survey of Hollywood's most-liked unproduced screenplay, and The Ankler, a newsletter focused on coverage of the entertainment business.
The podcast is executive produced by Jon Cohn, Megan Halpern, Shana Naomi Krochmal, and Franklin Leonard. LAist Studios says FX has signed on as its launch partner.
