U.S. auto safety regulators have closed a six-year-old investigation into 1.47 million Ford Explorers over reports of exhaust odors in vehicle compartments and exposure to carbon monoxide without seeking a recall. NHTSA said it conducted an in-depth investigation that included review of more than 6,500 consumer complaints from 2011-2017 model year vehicles — including police versions of the large crossover — and found no evidence of a safety issue.
Taco Bell is bringing back its Crispy Chicken Wings, but only for a limited time starting Thursday through Feb. 9. The bone-in Crispy Chicken Wings are coated in Mexican Queso seasoning, crisped and served with Taco Bell’s s spicy ranch dipping sauce. The limited-edition wings will be available in orders of eight for $6.99. Taco Bell introduced the item last year, though in a 5-piece offering for $5.99. Using Taco Bell’s app will unveil a “wings filter” feature that tells you where the wings are available.
UPS and 350,000 of its workers are looking at a potential strike this summer if the delivery service and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters fail to hammer out a new labor contract. Amazon.com is UPS’s largest customer. About 40% of the UPS workers affected are drivers. UPS posted record profits in 2022.
Brands including Downy, Heineken 0.0, Michelob Ultra and PopCorners have begun running commercials that are slotted for next month’s broadcast of the Super Bowl. The spots rely heavily on star power, featuring Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad in central roles… The Natural Light beer brand has redesigned its can with a throwback look reminiscent of its 1979 design. “There’s been a lot of conversation about how ‘what is old is now what is cool,’ so we wanted to look back into our archives… so the can itself is harkening back to the design of the late 1970s,” said Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for Natural Light.
Nordstrom has lowered its sales and profit outlook for 2022 following a decline of 1.7% in the chain’s net sales for the last nine weeks of 2022. Nordstrom Rack, the retailer’s off-price business, saw sales fall 7.6% during the same period… Men’s Wearhouse, the largest specialty menswear retailer in the U.S., has taken its partnership with TV personality and NFL legend Michael Strahan to the next level. The retailer, a division of Tailored Brands, has launched the Michael Strahan Custom Made to Measure Suiting Program nationwide. Every location will have a team of expert tailors available to guide customers through their fitting, with the ability to personalize every element of their suit using a co-create “custom builder” app, the company said.
