Connoisseur Media Expands Into San Francisco With Bonneville Buy.

ree

Connoisseur Media is entering the San Francisco market in a major way, announcing an agreement to acquire Bonneville International’s Bay Area cluster — including heritage brands AC KOIT (96.5), urban AC KBLX (102.9), CHR KMVQ “99.7 Now,” and classic rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX. The transaction, pending FCC approval, is expected to close later this year.

The deal marks another milestone in Connoisseur’s rapid growth trajectory. Following its recent acquisition of Alpha Media, the company’s portfolio will expand to 220 stations across 48 markets once the Bonneville deal is finalized. Connoisseur already owns hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR and country combo “K-Bay Country” KBAY/KKDV (94.5/92.1) in San Jose, along with AC KUIC (95.3) and AC KKIQ (101.7) in the East Bay, giving it a strong foothold in Northern California.

“San Francisco is a world-class media market, and these iconic stations are a perfect complement to our growing portfolio,” Connoisseur Founder and CEO Jeff Warshaw said in a release. “We are excited to greatly expand our service to the Bay Area. Our goal is to have a real presence with local programming, local voices, and being a significant part of the community. That’s what defines us, and that’s what listeners and advertisers deserve.”

Bonneville International said the sale aligns with its broader strategy to invest in high-growth areas across radio, television, streaming, and digital media.
