Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Expands Into Kids’ Podcasts With New Series.

ree

Charlamange Tha God has moved beyond just hosting the syndicated “The Breakfast Club” morning radio show to launch the God’s The Black Effect Podcast Network as part of his deal with iHeartMedia. Now he is putting his stamp on children’s entertainment with the addition of the first Kids & Family genre show to be added to Black Effect.

Actress and Producer Tika Sumpter is behind the new show, “Adventures of Curiosity Cove.” The podcast was inspired by her book, “I Got It From My Mama,” which is a heartwarming story about Ella, a curious, full-of-life little girl who sees her mom as her biggest inspiration.

“This partnership between Tika and The Black Effect Podcast Network is an investment in the emotional well-being and confidence of the next generation,” said Dollie S. Bishop, President, The Black Effect Podcast Network.

Blending storytelling, curiosity and real-world lessons in social and emotional intelligence, the “Adventures of Curiosity Cove” series debuted last year. The podcast is described as a world filled with adventures and original stories through the eyes of “Ella the Curious.” Each episode will explore a new adventure, as listeners find Ella journeying into the mysteries of space, discover the power of being “the light,” and much more.

“We’re excited to launch this children’s program centered on social and emotional learning,” Bishop said. “Our kids deserve to see themselves reflected in stories that celebrate their culture while helping them understand and express their feelings in a healthy way.”

Sumpter and co-producer Nick Muscarella are currently working on a new season of the podcast, which will be released by Black Effect and iHeartPodcasts. In the meantime, listeners can binge on previous seasons.

The Black Effect Podcast Network marked its fifth anniversary last month. It was an outgrowth of a years-long relationship between Charlamagne and iHeart, which syndicates his morning radio show “The Breakfast Club” from flagship “Power 105.1” WWPR New York. The Black Effect has grown to include more than 60 shows, averaging 11 million monthly downloads.
