Caloroga Shark Media Turns October Into 30 Nights Of Halloween Listening.

Halloween is getting a podcast takeover. Caloroga Shark Media has rolled out a new fright-filled slate for October, anchored by “The October Records: 30 Days of Darkness” and a Halloween pop-up channel powered by its “Ghost: Scary Stories” podcast series.

At the heart of the campaign is “The October Records,” a serialized daily horror story unfolding from Oct. 1 through Halloween. The narrative follows British librarian Margaret Blackwood as she discovers a crate of vinyl records from 1974, each containing increasingly frantic recordings of a vanished librarian named Silas Crane. As she listens, Margaret realizes the horrors Crane described are no relic of the past — they’re happening again. Each night brings fresh terrors, culminating in a climactic choice on Halloween that could save or doom her town.

“This isn’t just a podcast — it’s a ritual,” said Caloroga Shark Media co-founder John McDermott. “Every night in October, you press play, and the world gets a little darker. By Halloween, you’re in too deep to stop listening.”

The serialized series will “possess” the Ghost: Scary Stories feed for the entire month, immersing listeners in a countdown of dread.

To extend the chills, the company has also launched a Halloween Pop-Up Channel. The curated feed features Halloween-themed episodes across the Caloroga network, including:

The pop-up will drop multiple themed episodes every day throughout October, making it a kind of audio grab bag of tricks and treats.

Both “The October Records: 30 Days of Darkness” and the Halloween Pop-Up Channel launched Oct. 1 and are available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major platforms.

Founded in 2023 by Mark Francis and McDermott, Caloroga Shark Media has quickly built a reputation for innovative audio formats and atmospheric storytelling. With more than 45 original shows across genres including “Palace Intrigue” and “Ghost: Scary Stories,” the company is positioning Halloween as podcasting’s newest must-listen season.
