As iHeartMedia showcases the voices of women this month as part of its SeeHer initiative, the company is launching a new talk show-style podcast hosted by beauty maven Bobbi Brown and author Anjali Kumar. The Important Things will feature the hosts in conversations with friends, thought leaders, creators and entrepreneurs as they explore the strengths, skills, habits, and mindsets that have helped their guests live their most authentic and gratifying lives.
“I am thrilled to be returning to iHeartMedia with The Important Things, that will explore one of my favorite topics right now which is how world-class thinkers and leaders constantly reprioritize and reinvent themselves,” said Brown. “During the pandemic, I know I simplified my life to focus on only what mattered most to me, and I’m excited to hear how our guests have done the same thing and share their collective wisdom with our audience.”
The first episode, out today, features feminist icon Gloria Steinem, followed by upcoming guests such as designer Jennifer Fisher, soccer legends Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris, philanthropist Christy Turlington Burns, and Jeopardy champion Amy Schneider.
“I’m looking forward to bringing what I know will be thoughtful, riveting — and funny conversations to iHeartRadio, especially alongside the legendary and insightful Bobbi Brown,” said Kumar in the announcement.
The Important Things will be released biweekly, starting today. New episodes will post biweekly each Thursday.
“Unfortunately, the ongoing pandemic has been hard on everyone. However, it has also led many of us on a personal journey in which we examine and understand more clearly what matters most to us,” said Will Pearson, Chief Operating Officer for the iHeartPodcast Network. “This podcast delves deeper into these discussions with its remarkable lineup of guests, and both Bobbi and Anjali bring incredible energy to the most relatable conversations.”
This will be Brown’s second iHeartRadio original podcast following her 2019 podcast Beyond the Beauty with Bobbi Brown, which featured interviews with top-notch experts across the fields of makeup, wellness, fashion, and entrepreneurship.
Kumar is also a veteran of audio. Her TED talk, My Failed Mission to Find God – and What I Found Instead, has been watched by over four million people around the world and translated in to 22 languages.
