James Patterson — the world’s bestselling author — is moving from the written page to the spoken word. He has partnered with Diversion Audio to produce new podcast called “Hungry Dogs” that will feature Patterson in conversation with leading voices from across a wide variety of industries, including books, music, film, television, politics and sports.

“I’m always looking for different ways to tell stories, and to get people to actually pay attention to books. Podcasting presents a new way for me to do so,” Patterson says in a statement. “With ‘Hungry Dogs,’ I’m lucky to have the chance to sit down with many successful people in several different industries (including my own) about what drives them. Because I really believe everyone has a story to tell.”

The weekly podcast will extend and expand Patterson’s original Substack video series with fresh material and new ways for audiences to experience Patterson’s celebrated interviews. Patterson says he created “Hungry Dogs” to explore the minds of extraordinary people, from authors and musicians to actors and politicians. The title is inspired by Patterson’s maternal grandmother.

“Nan used to always say, hungry dogs run faster. And I’ve been running fast ever since,” Patterson says.

“Hungry Dogs” will debut with interviews from Dolly Parton, BJ Novak, Kathy Bates, Harlan Coben, Stacy Abrams, Josh Gad, David Baldacci, Matthew McConnaughey and more. Episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms and on YouTube. Diversion Audio says many of his interviews will be with established and emerging authors, allowing Patterson the opportunity to provide a platform to promote book.

To maximize the show’s reach and impact, Diversion Audio will work with its sales and marketing partner, Gemini XIII, to secure brand partnerships for the podcast. Gemini XIII will collaborate with Diversion Audio — the audio production and distribution division of Diversion Publishing — to identify sponsors and creative brand alignments that complement the show’s content and audience.

“’Hungry Dogs’ is about chasing inspiration wherever it leads,” said Scott Waxman, CEO at Diversion Audio. “With the podcast, James Patterson is expanding the conversation—bringing in new voices, uncovering new stories, and, with Gemini XIII’s expertise, building partnerships that will help the show grow and thrive.”
