Two years after joining iHeartMedia from Cox Media Group, AJ Punjabi has made the move from Charleston to one of the company’s largest markets. As Market President of iHeart’s six-station San Francisco cluster, Punjabi is tasked with leading the culture and strategic direction of the San Francisco operation which includes hot AC “Star 101.3” KIOI, soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ and CHR “Wild 94.9” KYLD. He will report to Division President Scott Hopeck.
“AJ is a talent-focused leader with exceptional digital experience, which will serve him well in the Bay Area, where he will lead a talented team of creators and sales professionals,” Hopeck said in a release.
Punjabi makes the leap to market No. 4 from the Market President role in the Charleston market, where he also served as enterprise leader of the Blockchain/Crypto/NFT category for the company. He began his career with Cox Media Group where he spent 13 years in sales management and digital strategy roles in Atlanta and Miami.
