The podcast and audio rep firm AdLarge has primarily grown organically since its 2011 launch. But its latest move is an outright acquisition, as it has struck a deal to buy Inlet Media, a technology platform the company has used for nearly two years to onboard, distribute, and monetize audio and video content through its AI-powered podcast and creator workflows. AdLarge says the acquisition will accelerate its evolution as a technology-first audio, video, and content marketing ecosystem built to serve creators and brands at scale.
Inlet was founded amid the pandemic by Patrick Cedrowski and Brian Egan, who then launched their podcast automation platform in 2021 as a way to help creators distribute and monetize content. Then in 2022, AI features were added, opening the opportunity for creators to automate their podcasting workflows.
The Inlet platform has already been deeply integrated into the AdLarge and fwd. network infrastructure, enabling the onboarding, distribution, and monetization of video and multimedia content through existing podcast and creator workflows.
Cathy Csukas, CEO of AdLarge and the fwd. network, says the acquisition represents a “major milestone” for the company as the acquisition positions it to significantly expand revenue opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and deliver more powerful, performance-driven tools for creators and advertisers alike.
“Patrick and Brian bring world-class technical and product leadership at a time when creators and advertisers demand more integrated, data-driven, and performance-focused solutions,” Csukas says in the announcement. “By owning and evolving this technology together, we are building a stronger, more scalable future for our creators, our brand partners, and our entire ecosystem.”
As part of the transaction, Cedrowski has been named Chief Technology Officer of AdLarge and the fwd. network, marking the first-ever CTO appointment across the organization. Cedrowski says bringing Inlet’s technology into AdLarge will allow the company to develop it in a more integrated way. “Now we can accelerate innovation, scale faster, and build a more connected, data-driven ecosystem for creators and advertisers,” he says.
Egan, who has been Head of Product at AdLarge since 2022, has been promoted to Vice President. He will continue to lead product strategy and execution across the company’s expanding creator and advertiser technology stack.
“Inlet was built to solve real-world problems in content onboarding, monetization, and workflow efficiency, and seeing that technology become a core pillar of AdLarge and the fwd. network is incredibly rewarding,” Egan says. “This role allows me to bring together product, engineering, and business strategy so we can continue to deliver tools that help creators grow and brands activate more effectively across audio, video, and emerging formats.”
Financial terms of the deal were not made public.
