Weekly Spot Count: Progressive On Top For Fourth Straight Week.


Progressive continued its run as radio’s top advertiser — by a lot — in the latest weekly Media Monitors spot count.


The company, which recorded 62,514 spots for the week of July 29-Aug. 4, was not only No. 1 on the overall list for the fourth straight week, but it dominated the Insurance Provider category, easily outpacing other players in the space, including Allstate (24,058), State Farm (17,156), Term Provider (9,070), SelectQuote (8,847), Direct General Corp. (8,555), and Ethos Technologies (8,296).


Canada-based telecommunications provider Upside (31,409) was the week’s biggest gainer, jumping to No. 7 overall from No. 17 the prior week. Wireless carrier T-Mobile, meanwhile, led the Wireless Carrier segment with 33,158 spots, ahead of TracFone Wireless’ Total Wireless, No. 9 on the overall list with 27,741.


AutoZone climbed to No. 8 in the latest week from No. 15 with 29,320.


For the week of July 29-Aug. 4, 2024, the complete top 10 on Media Monitors’ weekly spot count list is as follows: Progressive, Lowe’s, Babbel, T-Mobile, Bank of America, Discover, Upside, AutoZone, Total Wireless and ZipRecruiter.
