Vote Of Confidence For Podcasts: American Advertising Federation Launches Podcast.

Here is some good promotion for the podcast industry directly into the core of the ad industry. The American Advertising Federation is launching a new podcast series called Future Legends of Advertising that will explore issues of interest to the industry. That includes topics like branded content, the war for talent, and the future of the CMO. The podcast is co-produced by iHeartMedia and the media and strategy agency Known.

The podcast is being created and executive produced by Known President Ross Martin, The Atlantic’s former Chief Revenue Officer, Publisher Hayley Romer, and Giant Spoon partner Lauren Correnti. The trio are each former inductees into the AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement. Additionally, Ryan Martz and Noelle Flores will serve as producers for iHeartPodcasts.

"What makes this podcast so timely and amazing is that it is an opportunity to showcase the new spirit of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and public service that is embodied by this year's Advertising Hall of Achievers," said Martin.

Season one of the eight-part series debuted Wednesday (Nov. 16), coinciding with this year's 30th anniversary induction ceremonies for the AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement. The first episode features a conversation between Wenda Harris Millard, Former Vice Chairman of MediaLink, and Crystal Zerrenner, Chief Growth Officer at Thinx Inc and of Barbie fame. They talk about the power and responsibility of taking big risks among other topics.

Future episodes will pair the following AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement inductees and advertising luminaries. "Who better to talk about the issues affecting our industry today and tomorrow than those advertising luminaries who have been there; and those who are plotting the course of our future," said Gayle Troberman, Chief Marketing Officer at iHeartMedia.

Upcoming show pairings include –

  • Antonio Lucio, Principal & Founder of 5S Diversity and Stephanie Nadi Olson, Founder & CEO, We Are Rosie. They discuss the importance of matching talent with brands.
