iHeartMedia Dallas has appointed Vince Richards as Program Director for rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL and classic rock “Lone Star 92.5” KZPS.
Richards steps into the role with responsibility for overseeing strategy, content execution and day-to-day programming for both stations. He will report to Marc Sherman, Executive Vice President of Programming, as iHeart continues to sharpen its competitive position in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
Company leadership framed the hire as a key addition to the cluster’s programming team.
“Any time you have the opportunity to add someone with Vince’s experience and reputation to your team, it’s a tremendous win for everyone involved,” Chris Long, Region President for iHeartMedia Dallas-Fort Worth, said in the announcement. “We’re excited to welcome Vince to our Dallas team and look forward to the impact he’ll make.”
Richards joins from Audacy, where he most recently served as Vice President of Rock Programming, exiting the company in November 2025. His resume includes programming stops in multiple competitive markets, including Sacramento, Kansas City, New Orleans and Houston. He began his radio career at WQLZ in Springfield, IL.
In a statement, Richards said he is eager to take on the new role and build on the stations’ established brands. “I’m excited, focused and motivated to lead the talented teams at these two iconic radio stations in the DFW market, and I look forward to maximizing our positions in North Texas,” he said. “Thanks to the iHeart team for the opportunity to take the reins of 97.1 The Eagle and Lone Star 92.5.”
