Podcast host and entertainment TV personality Nick Viall is launching the Viall Files Media Group, which will serve as a podcast network under the Kast Media umbrella under a new multiyear agreement between the two. Viall plans to create and develop a slate of podcast programming.
Viall, who may be best known for his time on ABC’s “The Bachelor” and “Dancing with the Stars,” has amassed more than 1.5 million social media followers. That exposure and online reach has allowed his podcast The Viall Files to rack up more than 40 million downloads since it launched two years ago. On the twice a week podcast, Viall mainly talks about relationships. On Mondays, listeners call in for a live version of the popular Instagram series "Questions with Nick." On Wednesdays, Viall sits down with a guest who challenges the way he looks at the world. The Viall Files, which was nominated for a People’s Choice Award in 2020, will be released under the newly formed network.
“With the formation of Viall Files Media Group, I am eager to continue the growth of my show The Viall Files while developing more podcast programming and continuing to leverage the resources available to me through my partnership with Kast Media,” said Viall in the announcement.
Viall Files Media Group’s expansion will include the development of shows across multiple genres, such as dating/relationships, pop-culture news and sports, among others; and will feature Viall hosting select shows in addition to solely producing others.
“I am proud of everything we have accomplished over the past two years with my existing show,” said Viall. “I can’t wait to expand to other areas that are of personal interest to me, while also partnering with top tier talent to help bring their podcast vision to life within my new network.”
For Kast Media, the partnership with Viall allows it to continue growing its portfolio. The company currently distributes about 50 series and according to Podtrac it was the 11th biggest publisher in February with a unique U.S. reach of more than 4.9 million and global downloads and streams of nearly 28 million.
“Kast is excited to expand its partnership with Nick Viall,” said Colin Thomson, Kast’s founder and CEO in a statement. “We’re looking forward to continuing to support Nick in his vision for The Viall Files and beyond, and to amplifying Nick’s uniquely compelling voice in podcasting.”
Viall is represented by UTA, Byron Ashley of Settebello Entertainment, Matt Rosen of Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, LLP. and Metro PR.
