After leaving NBC News and Fox News Channel, some may have wondered if Megyn Kelly had a future in media. Her daily podcast is answering that question with a resounding yes, as a new analysis by TheRighting finds Kelly had the fastest-growing conservative podcast during the first quarter.
The review of Castbox data shows subscriber numbers for SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show climbed 176% year-over-year to 134,590, an increase of 85,800 vs. the same period in 2024. It was also the best gain for Kelly’s show since TheRighting began tracking right-wing podcasts in 2021. And it has made her show the third most-followed on Castbox, behind The Ben Shapiro Show and The Jordan Peterson Podcast.
While the data only represents subscribers to a single app, TheRighting says it offers insights into what is happening in the broader podcast marketplace.
“Since endorsing Donald Trump the night before the November 2024 election, the popularity of Megyn Kelly’s podcast has soared exponentially and it shows in hockey stick growth on the Castbox platform,” said Howard Polskin, President of TheRighting. “There’s clearly a growing audience for her MAGA-friendly point-of-view and she has ridden the Trump wave perfectly since his January 20 inauguration. It’s no wonder that she is extending her brand and creating an entire podcast network with like-minded voices.”
Four other conservative podcasts also experienced significant year-over-year percentage growth in their subscriber numbers during Q1. They included The Ben Shapiro Show, which was up 28%, The Charlie Kirk Show grew 63%, Morning Wire gained 10%, and Bannon’s War Room was up 16% as it also cracked TheRighting’s top 20 chart for the first time.

TheRighting’s report is based on data that is updated daily from the podcast app Castbox, which according to the podcast-hosting platform Buzzsprout represents less than 2% of all podcasts that Buzzsprout serves. While it only offers a small slice of the podcast market overall, TheRighting says it provides a snapshot of the market for conservative podcast voices. It also points out that no other leading podcast app besides Castbox makes its data publicly available. TheRighting’s top 20 chart only lists programs that have had new podcasts available on the Castbox platform since Jan. 1, 2023.
