Spot Ten: Harlem Globetrotters Tour A Slam Dunk For Radio.

The enduring and iconic basketball institution known as the Harlem Globetrotters last week put on sale tickets for its upcoming 100 Year Tour, and franchise owner Herschend Family Entertainment turned to radio to spread the word.

What resulted was a marketing surge big enough to make Herschend Family Entertainment No. 1 on the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten, a weekly ranking of radio’s top advertisers based on spot count. The Globetrotters, whose tour kicks off in early December, tallied a whopping 77,698 spots for the week of Sept. 22-28. That ended a three-week run atop the list for insurer Progressive (60,049).

Janssen Pharmaceuticals’ TREMFYA, Upside and law firm Morgan & Morgan rounded out the top five.

The week’s biggest gainer, meanwhile, was ZEMO Brands-owned Zelmin’s, which makes breath mints. It jumped from No. 47 the previous week all the way to No. 10 on the strength of 29,197 spots.

For the week of Sept. 22-28, 2025, the top ten advertisers on the weekly Media Monitors Spot Ten list includes the Harlem Globetrotters, Progressive, TREMFYA, Upside, Morgan & Morgan, Discover, Pfizer, Global Gaming League, Vicks and Zelmin’s.
