Subscription fatigue is giving a boost to FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) channels, with Emarketer projecting viewership will top 125 million in 2026. When viewers scan their lineup on several platforms, they will also see a familiar podcast personality — Scott Galloway, who has launched The Prof G Channel.
Galloway is working with Swerve TV, a leading operator of FAST channels. CEO Steve Shannon said with the launch of The Prof G Channel, they are aligning the company’s growth with the proliferation of podcasting and the increasing demand by streaming platforms for this content.
“Scott has built one of the most trusted and compelling voices in business media,” Shannon said. “Our first foray into podcast-themed channels is a dedicated, always-on destination that extends the reach of one of the most-popular podcasters’ to the FAST environment.”
The new streaming TV network will feature a curated lineup of the podcasts that Galloway appears on, giving the podcaster more than 8 million monthly listeners. That includes his flagship “The Prof G Pod,” offering business, tech and career advice. The channel will also pull from Galloway’s other podcast appearances, including the tech series “Pivot,” that he co-hosts with Kara Swisher; “Raging Moderates,” which he co-hosts with political strategist Jessica Tarlov; and “Prof G Markets,” which he co-hosts with business writer and analyst Ed Elson. In addition to airing highlights of the podcasts, the channel will include original segments and programming focused on business, technology, and society.
“With The Prof G Channel, we’re bringing clarity, candor, and a bit of edge to a broader audience,” Galloway said. “I’m always in awe of the breadth and reach of our podcast audience, but now we have an opportunity to go even deeper. FAST platforms are reshaping how people consume content, and this channel is designed to meet viewers where they are and with no subscription needed.”
The Prof G Channel has launched onto The Roku Channel, Prime Video, Plex, Zeam and Fawesome, with more platforms to be announced.
