Saga Elevates Charleston GM Paul O’Malley To Senior Revenue Role.

Saga Communications has elevated Paul O’Malley to Senior Vice President of Revenue Development, promoting a longtime market executive to a newly expanded corporate role focused on growing the company's digital and local advertising business.

O’Malley has spent the past eight years leading Saga’s Charleston Radio Group as President and General Manager. The South Carolina cluster includes adult hits “101.7 Chuck FM” WAVF, “92.5 Kickin’ Country” WCKN, inspirational Gospel “Heaven 1390/100.1” WSPO/W261DG, and urban AC “Star 99.7” WXST.

Prior to joining Saga in January 2018, O’Malley served as Senior Vice President at Westwood One. Earlier in his career, he was Regional President for Citadel Communications in Charleston from 2003 to 2008, giving him decades of leadership experience across both local broadcasting and national media sales.

In his new corporate position, O’Malley will oversee Saga’s digital revenue strategy, working closely with market managers, media advisors and station clients to develop new revenue opportunities. His responsibilities will include helping stations expand their digital advertising offerings, strengthening client relationships, and identifying strategies to drive growth across the company's portfolio.

"I'm honored by the opportunity to help lead Saga's next phase of growth by developing innovative revenue strategies, strengthening client partnerships, and working alongside our exceptional fulfillment partners and corporate team," O’Malley said in announcing his promotion.

The move comes as radio broadcasters continue to place greater emphasis on digital marketing services and integrated advertising solutions, with companies increasingly relying on experienced market leaders to help diversify revenue beyond traditional over-the-air advertising.
