Revealed: Apple Podcasts Most Popular Shows, Subscriber Channels For 2025.

There is a new most listened-to show on Apple Podcasts as “The Joe Rogan Experience” marks its first full year being widely distributed across all apps. Rogan’s show first gained distribution on Apple Podcasts in mid-2024 after his exclusive arrangement with Spotify expired. That put Rogan in third place on last year’s ranking. But with a full year now in the books, Apple says Rogan had the top show on Apple Podcasts in 2025.

Knocked out of first place, The New York Times’ morning show series “The Daily” fell back to second place, while “The Mel Robbins Podcast” — which didn’t finish in the top 10 last year — jumped into third place in 2025. “Crime Junkie” fell two spots to fourth place, while “Dateline NBC” also makes its top 10 debut in fifth place.

The other big debut in the top 10 is Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy,” which sits at No. 7 on Apple Podcast’s ranking. Like Rogan, Cooper’s show had earlier been a Spotify exclusive. And while The New York Times can no longer claim to having the No. 1 show on Apple Podcasts, it does have a second show in the top 10 with the debut of “The Ezra Klein Show.”

The additions mean that three podcasts that ranked in the top 10 in 2024 were knocked out in 2025, including “New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce,” “Up First from NPR,” and “Morbid.”

The true crime genre dominates Apple Podcasts’ listing of the top new shows in 2025, although actress Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” and MS Now host Nicole Wallace’s “Good People” bookend the ranking.

Apple Podcasts also reports SiriusXM had the biggest channel based on listenership on its app, followed by Wondery, iHeartPodcasts, The New York Times, and Audiochuck.

In addition to the data-driven charts, listeners in the U.S. and more than 15 other countries can discover the Best Shows of 2025, a specially curated collection of standout podcasts that resonated with Apple’s editorial team this year.

Apple Podcasts says it will announce its Show of the Year honor on Thursday, Dec. 4. In 2024, Dan Taberski’s seven-episode limited-run series “Hysterical” was its pick.
