Pushkin Industries has announced a packed programming lineup for fall 2025, featuring a mix of brand-new original podcasts and the return of popular series. Meanwhile, Pushkin and iHeartMedia confirmed on Thursday that they’ve extended their podcast distribution partnership.
The new season promises the high-quality, narrative-driven content that Pushkin’s known for. Among the highlights is a limited series from Malcolm Gladwell’s “Revisionist History,” which investigates the systemic failures of capital punishment in America, centered on a notorious case in Alabama. Also returning is Jonathan Goldstein’s “Heavyweight,” now part of the Pushkin family, and Leon Neyfakh’s “Fiasco,” which will explore the political and media fallout from the Benghazi controversy. A new true crime podcast, “The Chinatown Sting,” is also set to premiere.
On Oct. 14, Pushkin will re-release Michael Lewis’s bestselling book “The Big Short” as an audiobook, narrated by Lewis himself for the first time. Coinciding with this launch, Lewis will debut a new season of his podcast “Against the Rules,” which will serve as a companion series. The episodes will delve into how the financial crisis depicted in The Big Short continues to shape American politics over a decade later.
The release marks the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed film adaptation of “The Big Short,” which starred Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt. The story remains a defining account of the 2008 financial collapse — and the few who saw it coming.
“This new slate of podcasts showcases the passion we have at Pushkin for the power of creative and premium audio storytelling,” Pushkin CEO Gretta Cohn says. “We are excited by what our dynamic roster of storytellers will bring to audiences as we continue building the future of audio — one story at a time.”
The programming news coincides with Pushkin’s renewed partnership with iHeartMedia. First established in November 2020, the updated agreement extends iHeart’s role as the exclusive sales and distribution partner for Pushkin’s entire podcast catalog, including the upcoming Fall 2025 lineup. As part of the continued collaboration, Pushkin and iHeartMedia will also co-produce new projects, with more show announcements expected in the future.
“Five years ago, we were thrilled to partner with Malcom Gladwell and the team at Pushkin Industries, knowing that our platforms coming together would lead to innovation in a still-emerging field,” said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts. “We’re so proud of what we’ve built together and as podcast listening continues to explode, we’re delighted to extend our partnership and create even more fantastic shows together.”
Pushkin Industries’ fall 2025 programming will also bring new episodes from their library of shows, including “The Happiness Lab,” “Cautionary Tales,” “Broken Record,” “A Slight Change of Plans,” “Risky Business” (co-produced with iHeartPodcasts) and “What’s Your Problem?” (co-produced with iHeartPodcasts). Listeners can find the full catalog of Pushkin’s podcasts on the iHeartRadio platform.
