Podcasts Power ‘20/20 True Crime’ Channel Launch By ABC News And TuneIn.

ABC News has released several true crime podcasts under its “20/20” banner. Now those podcasts, as well as audio from the long-running television series and an after-show podcast will be available to listeners in a single stream. ABC News is launching the “20/20 True Crime” channel on TuneIn, which will bring all the content from the iconic news magazine together in one place.

“True crime is consistently a top-performing content genre, and we expect it will be a big hit with our audiences,” says said Rich Stern, CEO of TuneIn in the announcement. “ABC News and “20/20” deliver some of the most gripping stories in journalism, and now listeners can dive into those investigations whether at home, on the road or anytime throughout their day.”

The “20/20 True Crime” channel will feature the narrative audio series from ABC News’ podcast portfolio like “Devil in the Desert,” “Cold Blooded: Mystery in Alaska” and “What Happened to Holly Bobo?” TuneIn listeners will also hear full episodes of “20/20” television news magazine. And the deep dives from “20/20: The After Show Podcast” in which co-anchor Deborah Roberts, ABC News correspondents, and “20/20” producers sit down to talk all the little details and behind-the-scenes moments that helped shape the week’s TV episode.

It is the latest expansion move by ABC News from its true crime brand. Last fall, it expanded the weekly “20/20: The After Show” series to video as the TV show launched its 48th season.

In addition to the “20/20 True Crime” channel, TuneIn says more ABC News programming is set to roll out on TuneIn in the coming months. Other ABC News programming and ESPN Radio are already available via TuneIn. The app has more than 75 million listeners across 122 countries, and TuneIn’s technology is integrated into more than 200 different vehicles and devices.
