Audacy’s WCBS-FM New York (101.1) and “K-Earth 101” KRTH Los Angeles place first and second in Inside Radio’s Top 10 ranking of classic hits-formatted stations, based on persons 6+ weekly cume delivery during Nielsen’s winter 2025 wave (January-to-March three-month average, Mon.-Sun, 6am-12am).
CBS-FM and “K-Earth,” both Marconi Award winners for Classic Hits Station of the Year, deliver a cume north of 2 million, and, coincidentally, were early believers in spotlighting older hits, having initially adopted an all-oldies format in the same year, 1972.
Overall, Audacy lands six stations in classic hits’ top 10, with the rest lining up from fourth to seventh: “98.7 The Spot” KSPF Dallas; WOMC Detroit (104.3), the 2025 Marconi Classic Hits Station of the Year winner; “Big 98.1” WOGL Philadelphia; and “Big 94.5” KOOL Phoenix, respectively.

Audacy is the only company with more than one station in the top 10. The remaining four spots are claimed by: Cumulus Media’s WLS-FM Chicago (94.7), the only other station with a cume over 1 million; iHeartMedia’s “Kool 108” KQQL Minneapolis, where mornings are hosted by longtime Twin Cities voice and Minnesota Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame inductee Lee Valsvik; Cox Media Group’s “97.1 The River” WSRV Atlanta, where 34-year Atlanta radio veteran Axel Lowe handles mornings; and Beasley Media Group’s WROR Boston (105.7), which flipped to oldies a year after CBS-FM and “K-Earth,” in 1973.
