Nielsen Audio says during a retrospective review of its 2024 Spanish Dominant and English Dominant Universe Estimates (UEs), the company discovered a miscalculation that affected the language-usage UEs for seven markets.
The incorrect language-usage UEs were used from the April 2024 survey period in PPM markets, and Spring 2024 in Diary markets.
The affected markets and the differences between the incorrect and correct UEs are as follows:
PPM Persons 6+
Denver (Spanish Dominant +0.9% / English Dominant -0.9%)
Las Vegas (Spanish Dominant -3.6% / English Dominant +3.6%)
Phoenix (Spanish Dominant +0.9% / English Dominant -0.9%)
San Antonio (Spanish Dominant -0.3% / English Dominant +0.3%)
San Jose (Spanish Dominant -0.1% / English Dominant +0.1%)
Diary Persons 12+
Bakersfield (Spanish Dominant -0.1% / English Dominant +0.1%)
Tucson (Spanish Dominant +0.9% / English Dominant -0.9%)
“Nielsen is in the process of recalculating audience estimates using the correct language-usage UEs in these markets to determine if there are any material differences,” a client notice from Nielsen read. “Nielsen will restate data if the differences meet Nielsen’s long-established reissue guidelines.”
