NFL’s Audience Grows In The U.K., Sparking Interest In Podcast About The Other Football.


The NFL has seen its popularity grow in the U.K. during the past few years and the Sport Social Podcast Network will look to tap into that as it signs The Nat Coombs Show, one of UK’s biggest NFL podcasts. Launched in 2019, the show features Coombs, a British sports presenter that has been anchoring NFL coverage on TV and radio in the U.K. for the last 15 years.


“It's such an exciting time for the NFL in the UK right now and we're looking forward to building our audience and making new friends of the show with our new partners,” Coombs said.


According to the NFL’s own research, there are an estimated 13 million fans in the U.K. While the jump to Sport Social is timed with the start of the season, Coombs releases episodes year-round. On the show he is joined by an All-Pro crew of expert voices from both sides of the pond, getting audiences up to speed on all the latest news and key stories from around the league.


Sport Social is Europe's largest sport dedicated podcast network. It was launched by parent company Voiceworks Sport, which specializes in voice technology and audio content strategy. The Nat Coombs Show is the latest show to join Sport Social, which launched in February 2021. The network now has over 300 titles on its roster, achieving combined monthly downloads of over nine million.
