NBCUniversal’s Coverage Of The Paris Olympics Will Stream On iHeartRadio.

The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be broadcast across the iHeartRadio streaming platform thanks to an agreement between NBCUniversal (NBCU) and iHeartMedia.

The partnership will have iHeart providing 24/7 play-by-play audio channels of select NBCU linear coverage of the Olympic Games; creating an original Olympic iHeartPodcast hosted by SNL’s Bowen Yang and actor/comedian Matt Rogers; producing Olympic-specific episodes of some of iHeart’s top podcasts; and encouraging listeners to tune-into NBCU’s TV coverage of the games.

“We are thrilled to partner with NBCU on coverage of the Paris Olympics this summer and heighten the excitement around this year’s games,” iHeartMedia President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Michael Biondo said in a release. “As the leading sports audio destination, it’s an honor to be able to provide our platform and our massive reach to bring further awareness and up-to-the-minute coverage of NBCU’s broadcast of this year’s Olympics.”

The iHeartRadio broadcasts will focus on Team USA, which has led the medal count at seven consecutive Summer Games. NBCU’s coverage on iHeartRadio is expected to include Team USA men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and volleyball, along with swimming, gymnastics, track & field, and more.

The new interview-based podcast will follow Yang and Rogers as they learn about the Olympics from current and former Olympians and celebrity fans. The podcast will debut in June and be published weekly throughout the Games and will include coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Additionally, as part of the collaboration with NBCU, iHeart will produce Olympic-themed episodes for some of its most popular educational podcasts, including “Stuff You Missed in History Class” and “Ridiculous History.”

“We’re excited to partner with iHeartMedia to provide Olympic fans with even more ways to enjoy the Paris Olympic Games,” NBC Olympics President Gary Zenkel said in a release. “This partnership allows iHeart’s large audio audience to hear NBCU’s Olympic coverage away from their televisions and digital devices, as well as engage with the Games through iHeart’s celebrated and entertaining podcasts.”
