National Black Radio Hall Of Fame Opens Nominations.

The National Black Radio Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for its Class of 2026, continuing its mission to recognize and preserve the legacy of Black excellence in American radio.

Based at Harris-Stowe State University’s Vashon Center in St. Louis, the organization honors the contributions of Black radio professionals whose work has shaped the medium across programming, leadership, and community engagement. The Hall of Fame was founded by veteran broadcaster Bernie Hayes, who began his radio career in 1950 and later established the institution to document and celebrate Black radio’s influence on the industry.

The Class of 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for September 19, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. The annual event recognizes trailblazers and innovators whose careers have left a lasting mark on radio at the local and national levels.

Nominations are open to the public and can be submitted through the organization’s website at nbrhof.org.
