As NAB Show returns to Las Vegas April 19-22, small and medium market broadcasters will once again carve out their own space to tackle the issues unique to stations outside the top 50 markets. The NAB Small and Medium Market Radio Forum is set for Sunday, April 19, from 2-6pm in North Hall, bringing together operators from markets 51+ for a focused afternoon of idea-sharing and strategy.
Organized by the NAB Small and Medium Market Radio Committee, the forum is designed specifically for broadcasters serving smaller communities, where resources, staffing and revenue opportunities often look far different than in major metros.
The session will open with a panel on artificial intelligence featuring Sun Sachs and communications attorney David Oxenford, examining how emerging AI tools are reshaping programming, station workflows and revenue generation for markets 51+. From there, the agenda shifts to peer-driven roundtables covering digital sales strategies, community events and social media execution, high school sports programming ideas, audience growth tactics and innovation in the connected car.
Organizers say the goal is to deliver practical, immediately actionable ideas tailored to smaller-market realities.
The forum is included with the NAB Show Premium Conference Pass, which also provides access to the full Broadcast Management and Monetization Conference, along with sessions on revenue strategy, leadership and broader industry trends, plus entry to the exhibit floor.
Eligibility for the Small and Medium Market Radio Forum is limited to radio professionals working in markets ranked 51 and below. Qualified attendees can receive a $200 discount on the Premium Conference Pass using code SMMRF26.
Julie Koehn, Chair of the NAB Small and Medium Market Radio Committee and President of Lenawee Broadcasting Company and Southeast Michigan Media, is encouraging broadcasters to use the forum as a launching point for the week.
“This event is about us — our challenges, our successes and the future of small and medium market radio,” she said in the announcement.
