‘Music Saved Me’ Podcast Enshrined With Select Episodes In Rock Hall Archives.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame library and archives have been gifted select episodes from the music podcast series “Music Saved Me.” The podcast, created by radio executive and podcast creator Buzz Knight, and hosted by TV and radio personality Lynn Hoffman, says the donated episodes were selected based on their contribution to documenting music’s therapeutic and life-changing power across different generations and genres.

Episodes now included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame archive include interviews with Train’s Pat Monahan, Run-DMC’s Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, Def Leppard’s Rick Allen, The Head and the Heart’s Charity Rose Thielen & Matt Gervais, Shinedown’s Brent Smith, singer-songwriters Lauren Monroe, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Mary Gauthier, country recording artists Whey Jennings and Struggle Jennings, Neo-classical pianist BLKBOX, and Teen Cancer America’s Simon Davies.

The “Music Saved Me” podcast launched in 2023, and over the past two years it has had more than 1.5 million downloads across 30 countries as it has reached No. 1 on the Apple Podcast charts for music shows. It features Hoffman speaking with recording artists and industry figures about how music has profoundly impacted their own lives, offering fans stories of resilience, healing, and transformation, all the while providing personal context behind the songs they’ve come to love.

“Lynn Hoffman has created something truly special with this podcast — capturing deeply personal stories that demonstrate music’s ability to heal, inspire, and literally save lives,” says Knight. “Preserving these conversations in the Rock Hall’s archives ensures that future generations can witness the profound impact music has on the human spirit.”

Hoffman is no stranger to talking about music. She previously hosted the “Private Sessions” music performance and interview series on A&E Television Networks from 2007 to 2012. The show became cable television’s most-watched music and interview series during its 60-episode run. Hoffman earlier was a host on VH1 Classic, where she hosted numerous artist interviews and music specials. She has also worked in radio in New York and Boston.

In a statement, Hoffman says she’s “honored and thrilled” to be part of the donation that is “preserving the profound stories of how music has healed, inspired, and shaped the lives of artists and fans alike for generations to come.”

Buzz Knight Media Productions podcasts are part of the iHeartPodcast Network, in conjunction with Premiere Networks. He also produces and hosts the “Takin’ A Walk: Music History on Foot” show. It features Knight taking a walk with musicians, authors, celebrities, and insiders and recording the conversation.
