Medical, Streaming, Fast Feeders Among the Week’s Top Radio Advertisers.

In July 2021 QC Kinetix began testing radio with 5,651 spots in one week. By last November, the account, which bills itself as the country’s leading regenerative medicine franchise group, was in the top 50 with 13,740 weekly airings. As the calendar turned the page to March 2022, QC Kinetix was in the top 30 at radio, steadily increased its weight until it ranked as radio’s No. 15 advertiser in first six months of the year.

Now the group, endorsed by Pro Football Hall of Famer and Dancing with the Stars Champion Emmitt Smith, has hit another milestone, cracking the top 10 for the week of Sept. 19-25 with 26,324 spots and advancing 12-10. QC Kinetix says it uses natural pain treatments to help patients find relief from chronic pain due to injury, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Procter & Gamble’s Swiffer home cleaning products line has also been steadily climbing the spot tracking chart. It moves 8-6 with 39,813 spots.

In the fast-food wars, Wendy’s continues to out-market McDonald’s on AM/FM radio with 29,468 spots, compared to 23,103 for Mc’D’s. Wendy’s has been radio’s top quick serve restaurant account since late July. That’s a switch from the historical trend of the Golden Arches dominating the category.

Streaming and cable TV services are using the radio airwaves to drive viewership. NBCUniversal is marketing its Peacock streaming service with 14,745 spots (No. 34) and Disney ran 10,289 commercials for its ABC television network.

Meanwhile, eBay, which came it at No. 11 in the mid-year report, continues in that position in the latest weekly chart. The online retailer didn’t place in the top 100 last year.

Discover, the No. 35 advertiser of the first half of 2022, has moved up to No. 16 in the weekly recap with 21,106 spots.

Free promos that aired on iHeartMedia stations took the top two positions on the latest list, with 90,234 promos for its streaming app (No. 1) and 57,296 for the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which took place over the weekend.

For the week of Sept. 19-25, 2022, the top ten on the Media Monitors tally are iHeartRadio at 1, iHeartRadio Music Festival at 2, Progressive at 3, Indeed at 4, ZipRecruiter at 5, Swiffer at 6, Lowe’s at 7, Wendy’s at 8, Babbel at 9 and QC Kinetix at 10.
