MediaCo CEO Albert Rodriguez Receives NAHJ Visionary Award.

MediaCo President/CEO Albert Rodriguez has been selected by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) as the recipient of the 2025 Visionary Award.

The award recognizes individuals whose bold ideas, leadership, and lasting impact have helped shape the media industry and inspired generations of professionals to follow in their footsteps. Rodriguez was selected for his decades-long leadership across television, radio, and digital media, marked by his ability to unite diverse teams, transform businesses, and drive meaningful cultural impact.

“Albert embodies the true definition of visionary leadership,” Soo Kim, Chairman of MediaCo, said in a release. “He has built a career on innovation and integrity, guiding MediaCo into new frontiers while staying deeply committed to the communities we serve. This honor from NAHJ is a testament to his influence, not just as a business leader, but as a champion of representation and inclusion across media.”

Rodriguez spent 24 years at Spanish Broadcasting System from 1999 until December 2023. He joined MediaCo in September 2024 as Chief Financial Officer before rising to his current role.

From your early days managing Miami’s radio sales to steering Mega TV’s revenue strategy, your fingerprints are all over some of the most pivotal moments in the company’s history. Even in the face of uncertainty, like the Mega TV transaction, your role as a driving force behind the scenes showed the kind of bold thinking and steady hand that only true visionaries possess,” the announcement read. “Now, as CEO and President of MediaCo Holding, you continue to lead with clarity, purpose, and vision. This award isn’t just about titles or deals—it’s about the way you’ve inspired others, built lasting impact, on an industry that’s constantly evolving.”

Rodriguez will be honored at the upcoming Excelencia Awards Ceremony at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Nov. 7.
