Longtime Cumulus Leader Jay Davis Takes On Expanded Regional Role.

Cumulus Media has promoted Jay Davis to Regional Vice President, expanding the veteran broadcaster’s responsibilities to include oversight of the company’s six-station cluster in Colorado Springs while he continues to lead its Oklahoma City operations.

Davis has served as Vice President/Market Manager of Cumulus Oklahoma City since 2015 and now will oversee both markets, managing a combined portfolio of 11 radio stations and their associated digital platforms.

The promotion extends a career that spans nearly four decades with Cumulus and its predecessor operations in Oklahoma City. Davis joined the company in 1989 as a sales representative and was promoted to Sales Manager in 1997, a position he held for 18 years before being elevated to Market Manager.

“Jay is an accomplished leader and the perfect partner for the team in Colorado Springs,” Cumulus President of Operations Bob Walker said in the announcement. “We are eager to see the impact he and the team will continue to have in that community for our listeners and clients.”

Davis said he is eager to begin working with the Colorado Springs staff while building on the cluster’s established position in the market.

The Colorado Springs cluster includes “Cat Country 95.1” KATC-FM, “Xtra Sports Radio 1300” KCSF-AM, classic rocker KKFM (98.1), CHR “98.9 Magic FM” KKMG-FM, AC “92.9 Peak FM” KKPK-FM, and news/talk outlet KVOR-AM (740).

In Oklahoma City, Davis will continue overseeing rock KATT-FM (100.5), adult hits “Alice 104.9” KKWD-FM, hot AC “98.9 Kiss FM” KYIS-FM, and “The Sports Animal” WKY-AM (930), along with the market’s digital operations.
