Sigma Audio Networks, powered by MediaCo, and WAPA Media, a subsidiary of Hemisphere Media Group, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at bringing Puerto Rico’s top-rated radio program, “La Tendencia de Molusco,” to audiences across the U.S.
Hosted by Jorge “Molusco” Pabón, the program has built a strong following as a leading radio and digital entertainment brand, known for its blend of pop culture commentary, comedy, entertainment news and social discussion. The program currently airs weekdays afternoons on Spanish CHR “KQ105 FM” WKAQ, one of Puerto Rico’s top-rated stations and a flagship property of WAPA Media.
Under the new agreement, Sigma Audio Networks will oversee U.S. syndication, affiliate distribution and advertising sales for the brand. The partnership is designed to expand the show’s footprint beyond Puerto Rico while creating new opportunities for advertisers and affiliate stations seeking access to a highly engaged Hispanic audience.
Executives from both companies emphasized the cultural and commercial significance of the deal.
“La Tendencia de Molusco has become one of Puerto Rico’s most influential media brands by consistently delivering compelling content and authentic audience engagement,” said Alan J. Sokol, President and CEO of Hemisphere Media Group. “This partnership creates a powerful opportunity to introduce the show to new audiences across the United States while preserving the unique connection that has made it such a success.”
MediaCo CEO Albert Rodriguez highlighted the importance of authentic, culturally driven content in today’s fragmented audio landscape.
“Molusco and his team have built an incredible franchise by staying authentic and deeply connected to their audience,” Rodriguez said. “This partnership reflects our commitment to investing in premium talent and culturally relevant content that resonates with audiences across platforms.”
From Sigma Audio Networks’ perspective, the deal represents a strategic addition to its growing portfolio of multicultural audio brands.
“La Tendencia de Molusco is exactly the type of premium content Sigma Audio Networks was built to bring to market,” said Elisa Torres, President & CEO of Sigma Audio Networks. “We see tremendous opportunity to expand the brand’s reach, create value for affiliates, and deliver meaningful opportunities for advertisers.”
Pabón said the expansion marks a major milestone in the show’s continued growth beyond Puerto Rico.
“Partnering with Sigma Audio Networks and MediaCo allows us to introduce La Tendencia de Molusco to new audiences and continue growing the brand beyond Puerto Rico,” he said.
The companies did not immediately announce specific U.S. affiliate stations or launch timing but said additional distribution details will be released in the coming months.
