iHeartMedia talk KFI Los Angeles (640) technical director and producer Stefan “The Foosh” Cabezas continues his recovery after a violent crash on the 105 Freeway last week left his car engulfed in flames. Cabezas credited good Samaritans with saving his life, including applying a tourniquet to his injured arm.
On Thursday, host Tim Conway Jr. welcomed two of those rescuers, Kenyati Hubbard and Jonathan Garay, to the station. Cabezas, unable to appear in person as he continues his recovery, called in to express his “eternal gratefulness” to the men. “We’re glad we could have helped,” Garay said, according to KABC-TV. “If one less person stops, we don’t save him, so God bless everybody that stopped.”
Cabezas’ parents were in the studio to meet the Good Samaritans personally. “Last night on Conway's show, Foosh's parents met these amazing men in person, and with Foosh on the phone from his hospital room, they all expressed their gratitude to these heroes,” the station posted on Friday morning.
Cabezas has at least two more surgeries scheduled, but says he’s steadily regaining strength each day. The station plans to continue sharing updates as he recovers from the traumatic crash.
A GoFundMe account created by Conway to help “Foosh” with medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help him get a new car once he's recovered has raised more than $111,000 as of Friday afternoon.
