Katz Media Group Enhances Local Vote Platform.

With political affiliations becoming less predictable across the U.S., Katz Media Group is introducing an updated version of its Local Vote platform, aimed at helping campaigns make more informed media decisions at the local level.

The interactive, map-based tool compiles the latest data across more than 230 local markets, offering insights into how voters consume media across traditional and digital channels. The goal is to give political advertisers a clearer understanding of where and how to reach target audiences as the media landscape continues to fragment.

Among the updates are detailed breakdowns of voters’ preferred platforms, genres, and formats segmented by party affiliation, along with refreshed maps highlighting top radio formats and television news sources by state. The tool also incorporates current political leanings at both the state and local levels, as well as information on upcoming gubernatorial and congressional races.

Katz’s analysis underscores the degree to which media habits vary widely by market. For example, radio listening peaks in El Paso, TX, and audio streaming stands out among Mississippi residents within the New Orleans market. Meanwhile, Harrisburg, PA leads the nation in podcast consumption. Additionally, television viewing remains dominant in Wausau, WI, while video streaming usage is especially strong among Iowa residents in the Omaha market.

The updated Local Vote platform reflects a broader shift in political media strategy, where campaigns must account for increasingly fragmented audiences and localized consumption trends rather than relying on one-size-fits-all approaches.

By combining political data with granular media insights, Katz is positioning the tool as a resource for campaigns seeking to optimize ad spending and better align messaging with how voters engage with content across platforms.

As the 2026 election cycle approaches, the company says the enhanced Local Vote guide is designed to provide campaigns with a more comprehensive, data-driven roadmap to navigating an evolving political and media environment.
